Osira Handwoven Sujani Throw
Description
Hand woven in 100% cotton using a diminishing craft practiced only by a handful of artisans in the whole world.
The Osira throw is our ode to the beauty of California, our home state, with hints of blue ocean flowing into sandy beaches. The throw ages with grace over time, becoming softer with every use, as all heirlooms should. Generously sized to serve as a single coverlet, it adds warmth, comfort and artistry to any space. Each piece is finished with neat edging on all sides and adorned with four large handmade tassels at each corner, signatures of our Mosaic collection.
Please expect minor imperfections in our products. They are not flaws. They are emblems of our hand crafted process. A testament that every piece was made by an artisan's hand.
Craft
The art of Sujani weaving is a traditional craft from the western region of India that is currently practiced by only a handful of artisans in the whole world and is at a high risk of fading away.
The Sujani weave is an intricate process where artisans fill soft cotton into the fabric as they weave, creating a naturally quilted, cushioned texture without the use of stitching. This technique gives the throw its beautiful weight and drape, offering the soothing comfort of a weighted blanket while remaining breathable and soft to the touch.
Care
